795 meets or exceeds both original federal specifications W-T-1553 and revision W-T-1553A Features:

 The unique thermoset binder system enables us to utilize manufacturing processes which yield an ultra-smooth tape surface. The smooth surface helps to minimize head wear and optimize performance. 795 is formulated to provide just enough abrasivity to control brown stain buildup, while keeping unnecessary head wear to a minimum.

The carbon-rich, conductive back coat prevents static charge buildup in the tape. If static is not dissipated, it will cause loose debris to be attracted to the tape surface, resulting in increased dropouts and lost data. Back coating also improves winding and packing performance.
